Surprise!!

Guess what?!
That's right! This family of 3 is about to become a family of FOUR!
The Mr and I decided about a year ago that we were ready to expand our family by one more member.

We had to wait a while due to me switching jobs, but the time finally came! It only took two cycles before we got the BFP, and that is an incredible blessing!

I don't know what it is about this pregnancy that differs from my first, but I can't shake the fact that something could go wrong. Oh, wait. Yes I do. I know (personally) 4 people that had miscarriages in the last year. And after doing some research, I found that 1 in 4 pregnancies ends in miscarriage, and that scares the shit out of me.

My fears were realized this morning when I woke up to pee. There was something there that shouldn't have been. Cue tears, freak-out, and frantic drive to the ER in my pajamas. The Mr stayed home with the babe because we have no one around that would have been awake at 6:30 to come to our rescue. But it was fine, I made it.

5 hours, pelvic exam, ultrasound, and 5 tubes of blood later, baby #2 is okay.
Thank God.
There is only one baby in there (phew).
Heart was beating at 142 beautiful bpm.
hCG level is 51,000.
And I'm measuring at exactly 7 weeks.

I have my regular OB appointment in a week and a half, hopefully I'll get lucky and I'll get to see our new babe again.

No picture today because I've had a rough weekend and don't feel like taking one. (Plus, I look like shit)

(If we're friends on FB, please keep this quiet. I'm not ready to come out yet! Thanks!!)

How far along? 7 weeks

How big is baby? The size of a blueberry, and <1 an="" class="goog-spellcheck-word" of="" ounce="" span="" style="background-color: yellow; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;" th="">lol.

Total weight gain/loss: Around 3 pounds (I'm, of course, blaming that on quitting smoking)

Maternity clothes? Nope!

Sleep: Sleep is amazing. I'm ready for bed around 8 every night, but usually make it until 9 or 9:30 before giving in.

Movement: Not yet!

Food cravings: Last weekend I could have killed for some chips & queso. I also have this insatiable desire to drink soda. Obviously, I don't since I kicked my caffeine habit cold turkey as soon as I got my BFP, but I do occasionally cave and have a root beer or sprite.

Food Aversions: Nothing so far...
Gender: Not sure yet! But thinking BOY!

Pregnancy Symptoms:  Mild cramping, sore boobs, irritability, and pure exhaustion.

Belly Button in or out? In.

What I miss: Coffee & beer.
What I am looking forward to: My next appointment!

Upcoming appointments/events:  My first REAL OB appointment in a week and a half!
